HIGHER EDUCATION APTITUDE TEST (HAT)
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) via the Education Testing Council (ETC) will conduct the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) for eligibility of All HEC scholarships and admission in MS/ MPhil & PhD programmes through a uniform, accessible, and transparent selection process.
Who can Apply for the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT)?
The test is being organised for applicants who:
- Have already applied online for any MS/ MPhil & PRD admission OR HEC scholarship (Hungary, etc.)
- Intend to apply for the scholarship schemes advertised in future, including those by HEC-sponsored Pakistani Universities.
- Are interested in securing admission in MS/ MPhil & PhD programmes in public and private universities of Pakistan,
HAT Versions Based on Academic Streams
The test will be conducted in the following five categories based on 16 years/ equivalent education and the students should register accordingly:
The applicant must select the correct category while filling in the online form. Test scores will be valid for 2 years (for scholarships and admissions in MS/ MPhil & PhO programmes).
Date of Examination
- The test will tentatively be held on January 28th, 2023, Any change in the test date will be communicated through www.hec.gov.pk and http://etc.hec.gov.pk
- Applicants who register through the HEC online registration process will be able to download their Roll Number Slip from http://etc.hec.gov.pk and registered Email address a week before the test date.
- Email/SMS will also be sent to registered applicants for the test date, time, and venue. While filling out online application forms, candidates are required to provide valid email/mobile numbers on which they wish to receive Roll Number Slips.
- A printout of Roll Number Slip and Original CNIC will be required to enter the Test Centre on the Test Day.
How to Apply?
- Visit the following link http://etc.hec.gov.pk for online registration.
- In case of difficulty during online registration, visit https://onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk/.
- Only SUBMITTED applications will be considered for the HAT Test and applications in SAVE or INCOMPLETE mode will not be entertained
- Test Fee of Rs. 2000/is to be deposited via tLink IBill Invoice participating Banks/ATMs/Internet Banking/Mobile Banking/Easypaisa/JazzCash/Upaisa,
- (Once you have selected 1link Ibill Invoice payment service. Open /sign in to your mobile app and click on Bill payment or payment services (as per your mobile banking app options).
- Click on IBill Invoice payment services and enter the consumer number generated by the ETC portal. Once you see the details, pay the amount.
- After depositing the fee through 1link 1Bill Invoice, click on Verify Online Payment on the ETC Dashboard,
- The test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- The candidates must get queries/complaints resolved before the closure of the web registration portal Queries/complaints handling beyond the registration deadline is denied by the system due to logistics/security reasons.
Note: Taking a mobile or any calculating, recording or imaging electronic device inside the test centre, as well as uploading or sharing the images of the question book is strictly prohibited and an offence liable to punishment as per the ETC rules.
